As part of its relief services provided to Gaza, The National Bank signed a joint cooperation agreement today with the Palestinian Maintenance Fund to provide food parcels to women-headed households in the Gaza Strip. The agreement was signed by TNB’s Public Relations Manager, Reem Anani, and the Director General of the Palestinian Maintenance Fund, Ms. Fatmeh Muaqqet, in the presence of a number of administrative staff from both sides. The signing took place at TNB’s headquarters in Ramallah.
In her speech during the signing, Anani indicated that TNB continues to make every effort to provide relief to Gaza, to alleviate the impact of the war on the humanitarian situation. She stressed that this year’s social responsibility budget would be allocated to this purpose to stand by our people in Gaza as much as possible.
Ms. Muaqqet expressed her gratitude for the efforts of TNB, stressing the important role of the banking sector in supporting the steadfastness and dignity of women-headed households in Gaza during these difficult times. She also called for national and humanitarian solidarity to provide the necessary support and fulfill every national and humanitarian responsibility towards the Palestinian people. She pointed out the importance of all national institutions working together to provide the necessary services under the current circumstances. The Fund has developed an emergency plan this year to provide support in cooperation with national partners, with TNB leading such efforts.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of this year, TNB started to focus its efforts on providing relief to all Palestinian areas which were particularly affected by the war and its economic repercussions. TNB provided thousands of hot Iftar meals during Ramadan to displaced families including in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, Rafah, and Deir al-Balah. It also distributed 60 tons of food supplies to families in need in the West Bank. Moreover, The National Bank family, represented by its employees and Board, provided hot meals to displaced families in Gaza.
