The National Bank obtains the ISO global certification for information security

The National Bank (TNB) obtained the ISO 27001:2022 global certification after meeting international criteria for information security. This comes after TNB was subject to a series of audits and examinations throughout the year, by an accredited international company that conducted a comprehensive assessment of the information security and data center controls, as well as TNB’s ICT, making it the first Palestinian bank to obtain this certification.

While receiving the certification, the Assistant CEO for Information Technology Adel Hassan pointed out that TNB was making continuous efforts to preserve and protect information and enhance preventive controls to reduce cyber risks. He also noted that the banking and fintech sector was going through rapid developments, which require further efforts to protect customer data. He considers the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification as an international badge for TNB reflecting its commitment to the highest standards of protection.

In turn, the Public Relations Manager at TNB, Reem Anani, stressed that this certification reflected the bank's culture of continuous improvement and development and the proactive approach it adopted to effectively manage risks in its digital system. It also ensures confidentiality and protects customer information and the funds they have entrusted to TNB. She pointed out that this achievement allowed TNB to take confident steps towards digital transformation.

It is worth noting that the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is an affirmation of TNB’s commitment to international standards when establishing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving its information security system, as well as assessing and addressing the risks related to it.
