An-Najah National University joined the list of partners of The National Bank as part of its social responsibility message provided in the savings program. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement to support students in need enrolled in the University. Under the agreement, The National Bank will provide scholarships for students in need to help them in paying their tuition fees, upon the university’s suggestions.
The agreement was signed by the University’s Finance Director Rashid Al-Kakhan, and TNB’s Public Relations Director Reem Anani at the university campus, in the presence of a number of administrators from both sides.
Anani indicated that education is the cornerstone for the development of societies and is the foundation for achieving future security for individuals. This is the basis of the Al-Watani Savings Program and its social responsibility message. She stressed that "quality education" is one of the sustainable development goals that TNB adopted and focuses on, whether through its programs or social initiatives.
For his part, Al-Kakhen pointed out the importance of this initiative and its positive impact on students in needs at the university. He stressed the importance of this initiative at a time when the number of students in need is increasing as a result of bad economic conditions while the number of donors is decreasing. This initiative is unique to The National Bank.
In turn, and on behalf of the University, the Finance Director thanked the management of TNB. He noted that the University appreciates this generous initiative stemming from TNB’s contribution to social responsibility and all active national institutions.
It is worth noting that, since the beginning of the year, The National Bank has allocated a budget to support students in need by signing agreements with Birzeit University, Al-Quds University - Abu Dis, Polytechnic University, and An-Najah National University. This is part of TNB’s efforts to support the education sector by donating one dollar for each new Al-Watani savings account to students in need at these universities so they can finish their education.
