Under the patronage of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Arab American University inaugurated the first international conference on digital transformation under the title of "Enabling the Digital Future" at the university campus in Ramallah. The conference included several sessions that dealt with trends, challenges and opportunities in the field of digital transformation around the world for various sectors with a focus on digital inclusion and bridging the digital gap, digital security and privacy, the role of institutions in advancing digital transformation, the role of universities in the future of employment in the digital age, and the future of education in the digital age. The sessions also touched on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the transfer of models, experiences and research in panel discussions with experts and entrepreneurs.
TNB Board member Manal Zraiq spoke on behalf of the bank during the gala dinner held on the eve of the conference. She expressed the Bank's pride in its partnership with the Arab American University in this conference, which constitutes a space that brings together the public and private sectors, regional and international organizations and IT companies under one roof to exchange ideas and information and advance Palestine's digital future.
Zraiq confirmed that the objectives of the conference were directly linked to the strategic objectives of the bank, noting that over the past years, TNB has invested millions in building an advanced technological system capable of meeting the current and future banking needs of customers, and keeping pace with the development of the banking industry in the world.
Zraiq presented the latest enhancements introduced by TNB to its systems in order to automate its internal processes and the leading digital banking services it launched in the Palestinian banking market. She also mentioned TNB’s initiatives within the incubator program it launched with accelerator Flow to unleash young ideas in the field of FinTech and transform them into systems that are available to Palestinian banks and insurance companies.
At the end of her speech, Zraiq praised the efforts of the Arab American University and the Palestinian government in this field, stressing the importance of the conference and its contribution to empowering Palestine's digital future.
