In line with its digital transformation strategy, The National Bank (TNB) has become the first bank in Palestine to gain a new verified WhatsApp business account, bringing new benefits to its customers.
TNB is one of only a handful of companies worldwide chosen to participate in a pilot program, which gives selected businesses a verified WhatsApp account allowing them to communicate with their customers using WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption and subscriber privacy messaging services.
As one of only two banks in the Middle East & North Africa region to have the green verification badge on its WhatsApp account, TNB can now offer an improved range of services to its clients via WhatsApp including enhanced security, quicker customer support, appointment reminders and account notifications. As the world’s leading messaging platform, WhatsApp allows TNB to give its clients free, immediate and personal support, wherever they are in the world, using their preferred means of communication.
TNB’s general manager, Ahmad Hajhasan, said:
“As the leaders in introducing high tech services to the Palestinian banking sector, we are delighted to be the first bank to offer our customers personalized and secure banking services via our verified WhatsApp business account.
“TNB is at the forefront of digitizing banking services in the region, enhancing the customer experience by offering customers the ability to bank via their preferred social media platform, and interact securely with TNB when and where it is convenient for them.”
In March this year, TNB launched a digital service center, the first of its kind in the region, allowing the Bank’s existing and potential customers to interact with customer service agents directly via social media and has also pioneered in Palestine cardless services at its ATMs.
